Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at all of the past five race weekends.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat team-mate and title rival the Australian for the quickest lap in the final moments of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the points lead from his teammate by just one point after winning in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, beat the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the leading McLaren throughout the hour before the sprint shootout set to begin at the evening session.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in the championship fight, trailing with a 36-point deficit behind Norris, ended up in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to go off, though minor, when he lost control at corner four early in the session.
The Japanese lost control over the exit kerbs before rotating through the escape zone, and was lucky to get away with just a minor contact of the wall.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also spun, at the final moments of the session, turning around through the quick descending Mergulho turn approaching the final corner on to the pit straight.
Hamilton finished practice in 19th place, one place behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the rest of the field, with the German's Sauber P3, 0.619secs behind Piastri's pace.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
