It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

However although she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
